It gives smooth, jerk-free motion and higher speeds, due to the advanced motion planning. They accelerate/decelerate more gently, giving a ‘smooth’ operation, hence the name. Smoothieware has advanced motion control where the planning acceleration forms a sine, rather than a sawtooth.
